Retro teamed with his #1 stock trainer/handler Kirsten Cole for 4 days of fun at the TCASWA Farm and Arena trials in Chino. Interesting courses accompanied by rain, mud, sun and clouds with mountain snow as a backdrop made for challenging but enjoyable work. In the Farm Trial, Retro earned his Advance titles on sheep, fowl and cattle. In the Arena trial, he earned his final cattle leg for his WTCH! Retro also secured High in Trial Sheep and Ducks at Friday’s trial and won his first buckle for overall High Combined Sheep. So proud of him and his work ethic!
Thanks to to judges Canby Scott, John Knepper and Jim McKay for recognizing this young dog and always to Kirsten Cole, the best at bringing out Retro’s talents to let him be successful.

Happy Howlweeween!
We had fun traveling to San Diego/El Cajon for a day of agility. Wanted to see friends we haven't seen since having Retro and also practice our agility moves! Fun and success! Retro's first time in Elite Jumpers - maybe some jump chutes in our future to make the faster time - and earned 2 new titles, Open Regular and Novice Gamblers with placements. Lots of camaraderie and nice venue.

What challenging fun and amazing success Retro had in Williams, AZ at the inaugural Northern Arizona Australian Shepherd Assoc. (NAASA) Under the Big Top stock event, held at the fantastic Double M Stockdogs ranch. Retro finished his earned Advance Trial Dog titles in sheep and ducks (with High Scores Duck & Cattle) AND he completed his first-ever Farm Trial, earning all 4 Open Farm Trial titles (cattle, ducks, sheep, mixed) with High Score Duck & Cattle awards.
Thank you to the amazing Kirsten Cole for your training/handling expertise in knowing exactly what Retro needs to be Terrific. I never regret that 4-hour RT drive for training! Thanks to judges Russ Ford and John Knepper for recognizing and rewarding this dog’s efforts.
The scenery and the wild horses were icing on the cake for me. Until next time!

Well, we started the year off right in agility! Retro and I entered our first trial together in March and came home with High in Trial Novice, earning our Novice Regular and Jumper titles and one Gamble leg! 8 qualifying scores out of 10 runs with 6 firsts and 2 seconds - a dream. My first time trialing in 10 years so I was proud that I remembered the courses and survived the runs. Great foundation work with Noriko Aso - onward!
Thank you Lolo Photology for our fabulous first agility photos!

At the end of working with Kirsten, Retro often gets to bring stock out so they can have lunch and mingle. This was the first time for ALL the stock and it seems to blow his mind (which do I gather first? Wait, there are cows over there!). But good boy staying calm!

Good Boy!
No rain, thunder, lightning, mud, hail, Lake Dan or girl dogs in season could stop Retro’s success in March at the Hedgehog Hustle in Queen Creek, Arizona! With the expert training and handling from Kirsten Cole, Retro received 16 of 18 Qualifying scores and earned 3 new titles. His attention, enthusiasm and biddability was great for a young dog.
Thank you Kirsten for your expertise in helping Retro be successful and your care with him in the arena. Also huge thanks to Arizona Working Aussies for a welcoming first-class event.
And most of all, thank you Retro - for all your abilities but mostly for just being our best buddy.
